The Role of ICT on EDSA
(People Power Revolution)

Information and communication Technology(ICT) plays an import6yant role in our world today. ICT is an umbrella term that includes any communication device or application, encompassing; radio, television, cellular cellphones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite system and so on, as well as the various services and distance learning. ICT's are often spoken of in a particular context. In 1986 millions of unarmed Filipinos surprised the world by nonviolently overthrowing the brutal dictator Ferdinand Marcos, they called their movement "people power".

Aquino and her cadres used Radio Veritas to inform Filipinos of political development and organize them for nonviolent protests. Marcos prevented local media from broadcasting news of his death.

Through the help of Radio during EDSA(People Power Revolution ) Aquino are comfortable to communicate and inform Filipinos to make a protest against Marcos. Without Radio Veritas it would have been difficult for them to mobilize millions of people in a matter of hours.
